Belén and Tristan have been cycling together for a long time. The couple decided to cycle the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan to experience the beauty it offers.
Belén and Tristan discovered two puppies on the way down from the hill just a hundred kilometers from the capital. Tristan shared that he found the two pups beside a dead dog’s body, which he guessed were the puppies’ mother.
Since Tristan’s mother had an experience rescuing stray puppies, he contacted her for help. Tristan was told to give the dogs some food and water, but the puppies only drank water and completely ignored the food.
There were about five to ten locals who walked passed the dogs, but Tristan recalled that they did not care at all. When the couple saw the locals’ indifference, Belén knew that they have to step up and save the poor puppies.
The couple decided to help and rescue both dogs because they did not have the heart to leave them to die. Tristan placed the two puppies inside his bag and brought them to the veterinarian for further examination.
The couple already had a schedule planned, but they decided to cancel everything and focus on the dogs they later named Moka, and Latte. A kind-hearted driver gave Tristan, Belén, and the dogs, a ride to a Dushanbe animal clinic.
Tristan and Belén went straight to the veterinarian to have the puppies examined. As the couple waited for the puppies’ test results, Tristan asked his Instagram followers for donations.
Fortunately, an anonymous woman from the couple’s home country gave a thousand euros for the two puppies, and Tristan and Belén were able to bring the dogs with them to safety. After a couple of months, Moka and Latte found their respective loving homes.
