When a truck driver spotted a little puppy by the side of a very busy highway, he did not hesitate to pull over and check on her. He couldn’t take her with him but he knew to call for help. So he grabbed his phone, snap a short video, and sent it to the charitable group Love Furry Friends.
Without wasting any second, the rescuers headed out to save the puppy. They had a tough time searching for her but they didn’t give up. And after quite some time, they found her hiding in the middle of a field, hiding in dry grass.
There were no houses or business establishments nearby. Even the closest gas station was several miles away. It was the perfect spot to get rid of unwanted pets, but there was no way the rescuers would let something bad happen to the puppy.
The responders slowly gained the puppy’s trust and encouraged her to walk out of her hiding spot and toward them. They knew she was scared so they assured her that they meant no harm. They scooped her up, named her Shanti, and promised her that they will change her life for the better.
Shanti was a little anxious at first but she almost instantly relaxed once she was in the car. She behaved so well and just went with the flow. She had no idea what was about to happen but she knew it would all be for her own sake.
Once at the rescue center, Shanti enjoyed a soothing bath and then finished a full meal. Later on, she went to the vet for medical care. She received treatment against fleas and got her vaccines up to date.
The two-month-old was so scared and sad when she first arrived at the rescue center. But once she realized she was free from any harm, she became happy and confident. She explored her new surroundings and made friends with the other rescue dogs and puppies.
Shanti enjoys her stay with her rescuers, and she thrives under their care. But surely, she will flourish even more once she finds her forever family, and she couldn’t wait to finally meet them.
