This Golden Retriever Did Something Special That Was Dedicated To His Late Sister

This Golden Retriever Did Something Special That Was Dedicated To His Late Sister

Dogs experience grief, too, when a loved one passes away. For example, a golden retriever named Molson became gloomy when he lost his sister, Stella. All he had left to remember her was a picture that he occasionally stared at.

Molson was adopted when Stella was a senior dog. They’ve only bonded for a couple of years before Stella’s eventual passing. Still, the senior dog was able to make a positive impact on Molson’s personal growth and development. Not only was she an older sister, but a mentor and role model as well.

One day, Molson’s owner arranged a special activity to honor Stella’s memory. She went to a plant store and picked out a flower with the intention of planting it in her backyard on top of Stella’s resting place.
Of course, Molson played an important role in selecting which flower they would plant.

One event changed Molson’s life for the better. His owner adopted a golden retriever puppy named Maple. It was his turn to be an older brother and teach the younger dog what Stella had taught him.

With Maple in his life, Molson had to learn to be patient. He had to emulate the kindness that his sister once showed her. Moreover, he had to create a connection that the puppy would remember long after he was gone.

As Maple grew bigger, she and Molson became inseparable. The two dogs would cuddle and play throughout the day. The owner witnessing these two dogs bond, can’t help but remember the times when Stella and Molson did the same.

From time to time, Molson would still visit Stella’s resting place in his owner’s backyard. He would spend a few minutes in silence, looking at Stella’s photo and the blooming flower in front of it. It was a beautiful moment that can make anyone emotional.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
