It’s quite sad to think that there are dogs out there that are currently living with horrible and cruel people. Dogs are the most loyal and loving creatures and they only deserve the best treatment from their owners. Unfortunately, not all people think this way and end up abusing or neglecting their dogs.
In Wichita, Kansas, two puppies were rescued from such a horrible condition that it shocked the entire community.
It all started when a plumber needed to enter an empty apartment to repair a broken pipe that was causing water to leak into the apartment below it. The work was supposed to only take about a couple of hours but when the worker opened the door to the empty apartment, he was hit by the very distinct odor of animal waste.
The worker went around the apartment to investigate and found the source of the smell. Inside one room, he found a small crate with two puppies inside it. He was surprised that the two puppies didn’t even make a sound when he walked closer. He soon found that the dogs had their mouths shut tight with rubber bands, which had already dug into the flesh of the snout of the two puppies.
Fortunately, the worker had a friend who volunteers as a foster carer for an animal rescue organization. His friend contacted a woman named Sarah Coffman who runs the animal rescue organization called Wichita Animal Action League.
As soon as Sarah heard about the two puppies, she and her volunteers hurried to the apartment building. Nothing could have prepared Sarah and her rescuers when they saw the state of the puppies. After getting the puppies out of the cage, they rushed them to the vet where the rubber bands were carefully removed.
The rescuers decided to name the two puppies Violet and Wilson. Thankfully, they were rescued just in time. Aside from the scar that developed from the wounds caused by hair ties, they had no other health problems.
Violet and Wilson were taken to a foster home where they started their road to recovery. After everything they’ve been through, they truly deserve loving forever families. Watch the video below to see Violet and Wilson’s rescue.
