For three days, a Good Samaritan heard howls coming from the abandoned school in the street where he lived. He knew it was a dog but he never really saw it. He wanted to help so he reached out to the charitable institution Stay Rescue Of St. Louis.
Rescue workers headed out to confirm what the kind neighbor said, and there, on the second floor of the school building, they saw a Pitbull staring down at them through a broken window. They quickly searched for a way to get inside the campus but all doors and windows have been concealed. There was, however, a small opening leading to the basement floor.
The rescuers believed the dog wandered over and fell into that small hole or someone may have purposely dumped him in there. It was a 12-foot drop and the only way out was to use a ladder. So surely, the poor dog was trapped.
Once the rescuers were inside the building, they searched for the dog but they didn’t see him right off the bat. They walked around, and at the end of a dark hallway, they saw a sweet face peek out from behind the stairs.
Timid but curious, the dog held his head down and looked up at the rescuers with his soulful eyes. He walked toward them and wagged his tail in delight. He knew they were there to pull him out of that hell hole and it was time to go.
Before leaving, the rescuers searched every corner of the school to ensure there won’t be any dogs left behind. The Good Samaritan originally thought there were at least two dogs but, no, the pup was on his own. He was alone for knew how long.
The dog, now Ollie, was a well-behaved boy. He let the rescuers do their job and waited patiently until they got him out of the campus. And as soon as they lowered him to the ground, he was ecstatic and he kissed them nonstop.
At the rescue center, Ollie felt more delighted. He was jubilant to see so many new faces and he greeted everyone with his huge smile and happy tail wag. He just loved all the attention that he got.
It didn’t take long and Ollie left to be with his new family. His new mom, Cassie, loved him the moment she saw his rescue video. She knew he’d make an impeccable addition to their home, and she was absolutely right.
