Maxx, a family dog, became an instant hero when he led firefighters to two children trapped in a blazing house. The incident occurred in Longwood, Florida, at the residence of the Feaser family. Fortunately, no one died, and the fire was extinguished before it could spread further.
The fire broke out at around 11:20 p.m. on a Monday. A man named Chip Dover and his son Andrew were in close proximity to the scene of the tragedy. As soon as they learned that there were still people inside the burning house, they sprang into action.
Dover instantly grabbed a nearby chair and smashed it through the front window of the residence. He got the mother, Margo, out of the house safely.
After some time, firefighters knocked through the front door and safely rescued the husband, Brent, who had sustained severe burns.
The parents were safe, but the firefighters still had to locate the children who were still trapped inside the blazing home. They were aware that every second mattered but they were in a terrible situation as they were unable to locate the children. Maxx, the family’s German Shepherd, thankfully assisted the firefighters in locating the youngsters.
The smoke continued to thicken, but the dog still led the firemen directly to the youngsters. With everyone out of the burning house, the firemen quickly transported the entire family to the closest hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation. They transported Maxx to the animal hospital, where he received medical care.
They are now safe and in great shape. The Feaser family was grateful to everyone engaged in the rescue mission, including Maxx, who assisted the firefighters in locating the youngsters. According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the State Fire Marshal, the fire began on the rear porch of the residence.
Fortunately, the firemen arrived in time to put out the fire before it spread.
The family started a GoFundMe page where they gathered more than $15,000 to assist them well in getting back on track.
