Thanks To The Assistance Of Her Foster Mother, A Pit Bull Was Able To Give Birth To Three Beautiful Puppies

Thanks To The Assistance Of Her Foster Mother, A Pit Bull Was Able To Give Birth To Three Beautiful Puppies

Kathy Morgan June 4, 2022

A dog that is already eight years old is frequently regarded to be well beyond the healthy pregnancy age. That age is around 50 to 55 years in human years. Despite potential challenges, some dogs succeed in delivering healthy puppies even at this age.

Sugar, a pit bull, was pregnant with three puppies. She was being fostered at the time by a woman named Briana Flores. There was a possibility that the puppies will die, but Briana took every precaution to ensure that nothing unpleasant would happen.

Briana remained by Sugar’s side throughout the childbirth. The dog even gave birth right on Briana’s lap. The woman ensured the safe delivery of all three puppies.

Cane was the first puppy. He was an otherwise healthy young pup with no issues.

Cookie, the second, was not breathing. Briana had to stimulate the second puppy until it was able to breathe on its own.

Cube was the last puppy to be delivered, and he was gasping for air. Briana once again had to take action to ensure the puppy was breathing correctly.

Briana’s assistance was still required following the puppies’ birth. She had to take on the task of assisting Sugar in nursing the puppies. The mother dog was adamant about not caring for the puppies. She was unable to produce milk and was not eating or drinking adequately.

Sugar was soon found to be ill, impairing her capacity to nurse. Briana had the responsibility of bottle feeding the puppies. Throughout the night, she would wake up every two hours to feed each young puppy. Fortunately, her diligence paid off, as all three puppies were found to be extremely healthy.

The mother dog also regained her appetite when Briana looked after her puppies.

Soon, Cane moved to a new home, where he is now known as Bruce. Cookie was placed with a foster family. Cube is still with Briana, although several people have expressed interest in adopting him.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
