Miles Pequeño and his wife Beth are a couple highly devoted to their dog, Mercy. They completely adore the little pooch and take their pet anywhere they go. But when they went on a short trip to Washington, there was no possible way that the pup could join them.
So they did their research and looked for the best option where their dog could get the best care possible. They received recommendations about an animal service company that offers dog sitting, walking, boarding, and daycare. After talking to the administrator of the company, they were quite confident that they had found the right one.
They left Mercy under the company’s care and went on their vacation.
Miles and Beth were looking forward to spending some time in Washington. They both needed the time off to relax. But, what they got instead was the shock of a lifetime.
Free
As soon as their plane landed, they received a call from the animal service company. They said that Mercy’s walker tripped while taking their dog out for a walk. She accidentally let go of the pup’s leash, and Mercy got loose. As soon as the pooch noticed that she was free, she took off right away.
The walker tried to give chase, but Mercy was too fast. And despite looking around for some time, she couldn’t find the dog.
The couple was heartbroken. They both knew they couldn’t enjoy their vacation, knowing that their dog was alone and in potential danger. They quickly booked a flight home and started to look for Mercy.
Back to mom and dad
Miles and Beth reached out to as many people as they could. They wanted the word to spread widely and quickly. The couple was scared that something would happen to their pet and wanted him found immediately.
A few days after the pup got away, someone sent the dog’s parents footage showing Mercy passing their home. Together with some friends, the couple went to the woods nearby and set up a trap. They placed a roasted chicken inside to get her attention. Several hours later, Mercy was caught.
The relieved pet owners couldn’t be any happier. They have found their pet, and she is now back home with them.
