Hope For Paws, a charitable group from L.A., got an urgent call about a homeless Pitbull that needed help. Quickly, rescuers hopped into their car and responded. They spent several minutes on the road and they were able to find the dog almost immediately once they arrived at the neighborhood where he was dumped.
The dog, named Buddha, later on, was badly hurt. He suffered from painful wounds after some naughty children threw rocks at him. He was helpless, and the only thing he did to protect himself was to hide behind the huge trash bins inside a vacant lot.
The rescuers went to work right away. They gave Buddha food to gain his trust and they were happy that he accepted it. Soon enough, however, they realized rescuing him will take longer than they expected.
Buddha starved so he did not hesitate to eat the food the rescuers offered. But after getting hurt, he didn’t know if he could trust the people in front of him. He stayed hidden behind the trash bins and did not even move an inch.
The responders understood the dog needed time so they waited. They sat with him on the ground and assured him that they meant no harm. And after about an hour, they finally convinced him to walk out of the lot and into their rescue car.
All Buddha wanted was to meet someone he could trust and he was glad he met his rescuers. He looked at them with his soulful eyes and thanked them in his own way.
Arriving at the vet’s clinic, the dog received medical attention and then enjoyed a much-needed bath. Later on, he continued to his foster home with Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue. He thrived under the care of his foster parent and it didn’t take long before he found his new home.
Buddha got over his fears and his dark and painful past. He loved his new life and he cherished every moment of it.
