Smart Husky Appears To Understand What Mom Is Saying, Responds Accordingly

Smart Husky Appears To Understand What Mom Is Saying, Responds Accordingly

Kathy Morgan October 6, 2019

Siberian huskies are often known as “talking dogs.” That’s because they groan, whine, and howl more than they bark. They often communicate with their humans by groaning and whining, which looks like they are talking to them.

Years ago, a husky named Mishka became famous for being able to tell her humans, “I love you.” She got invited to different talk shows. The world was enamored by how her groans sounded like real human words and how she seemed to know what the words meant.

Soon, a lot of husky owners began uploading on social media videos of their dogs talking to them. While it’s quite common for huskies to “talk” to humans, there’s a particular husky that appears to not just “talk” to his human but also understand what she is saying.

K’eyush, nicknamed Key, is like the typical husky that enjoys expressing his mind. But more than that, he also enjoys dialogue with his human mom, Jodie. And one such instance was captured on video.

In the video, Jodie was showing how she prepared dinner for her husky. She explained how the dog had been raw fed since he was little, and that she had been looking for the best dry food she could give him during travel.

Pointing to the ideal dry food she had tried for Key so far, she took a small piece of it and gave it to her dog. Key ate the treat excitedly. He obviously liked it.

“Would you like some more?” Jodie asked her dog. He barked loudly in reply, and Jodie asked him to tone it down.

“That was really high-pitched, Key,” she told him. “Can you do it a little bit quieter?”

He groaned softly in reply. He knew Jodie wanted him to speak a bit softly, so he did. Mom was so happy with his response.

“Oh, that’s so cute. Thank you!” she told her dog. “Good boy!”

Key is an amazingly smart dog. Watch his video below and see for yourself.

About The Author

Kathy Morgan

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
