Shelter Takes Two Bonded Pit Bulls For A Hotel Sleepover And The Pair Ends Up Getting Adopted

Shelter Takes Two Bonded Pit Bulls For A Hotel Sleepover And The Pair Ends Up Getting Adopted

Kathy Morgan February 28, 2021

As soon as Frasier and Niles met at the City Dogs Cleveland animal shelter in Ohio, they swiftly warmed up to each other and became best friends. The two five-year-old pit bulls began spending most of their day together, wrestling in their kennel and napping when visitors weren’t around.

Because of their strong bond, the shelter staff decided they should go to a new home together. But this was always easier said than done as not many potential adopters were ready to adopt two adult dogs at once. Not wanting to give up on the bonded brothers, the shelter shared their story multiple times on their social media pages.

They would always mention that while two canines could be a handful, Niles and Frasier were generally easy to manage. They would also do well in social settings and loved meeting new people and making friends. Despite their efforts to give the canines more exposure, they still received no applications for the duo until they came up with a brilliant idea.

A week before Christmas last year, one of the staff members took the pit bulls out for a fun sleepover at a local hotel. She brought two matching pajamas for the duo to wear and watched on the sidelines as they cuddled together and played to their hearts’ content.

The spontaneous day out revealed Niles and Frasier’s true personalities in a home setting, and it became clearer that they were indeed meant to be adopted as a pair. As their adorable sleepover went on, their guardian kept snapping multiple photos that were later shared online.

Needless to say, the duo’s day out did the trick as they finally received several calls and adoption applications. Frasier and Niles eventually ended up with a doting couple, who took them home just days before Christmas. Look at the sweet pit bulls with their new fur parents here.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
