As dog owners, we expect all other dog owners to be loving, caring, and responsible for their pets. Unfortunately, some people who own dogs don’t even consider these animals to be a part of their family. In fact, some are downright abusive or neglectful towards their pet dogs.
We often wonder why they would get a dog in the first place and why they’re allowed to own one. Although we all have our shortcomings when it comes to taking care of our pet dogs, some people are downright horrible. One particular dog owner in Russia treated his dog with neglect and abuse.
One day, locals at Tutaev, Russia was shaken when they heard a loud shriek coming from a nearby apartment building. When the locals investigated, they saw a dog hanging upside down from a balcony. People acted quickly to rescue the poor dog who was stuck.
Thankfully, the dog, who they later called Rada, was safely brought down to the ground. However, people started to realize that Rada was trying to escape the abusive and neglectful owner. Rada was so emaciated that she was all skin and bones. She just wanted to get out of the apartment to escape her horrible situation, which led to her getting stuck and hanging from the balcony.
Rada was eventually taken to a nearby vet’s office where she was diagnosed with anemia and malnutrition. She was definitely so weak that she could barely stand up. People started to raise questions about the dog owner and soon found out that the person was well-known to the police as an alcoholic and was frequently causing trouble in the apartment building.
The owner didn’t care about Rada at all. A local animal rescue volunteer named Galina Ionina filed charges for animal cruelty to give Rada justice for the horrible things that she went through. The owner was fined but he didn’t care at all.
Rada is slowly recovering and the volunteers at the Do Good animal protection society took good care of her. Rada is in much better hands and the volunteers at the animal rescue are hoping that she’ll someday find a forever home where she’s truly loved.
