Dogs always get excited when we take them out for walks. Some dogs are so happy to be outside that they refuse to go back inside their homes. However, leaving a dog outside can harm them, leading to a lonely life.
In Australia, his old family essentially forgot a Greyhound named Claude. He was never allowed inside the house and was left to live in an outdoor pen for two years, exposed to extreme weather. Although he was always happiest outdoors, his original owner planned to train him to become a racing dog. Unfortunately, his owner lost interest in training him, and Claude was forgotten and locked away in a pen.
Thankfully, after two years of neglect, Claude was surrendered to an animal sanctuary called Brightside Farm Sanctuary in Tasmania, Australia. Shortly after being rescued, he found his new family. Claude’s new mom, Ali, stated that she and her family immediately fell in love with him. However, adjusting to his new life indoors with his new family was difficult. Claude had no idea how to live inside when they first brought him home. He didn’t even know how to get downstairs and had to be carried up and down until he learned how to do it himself. Over time, Claude started trusting his new parents and became a very affectionate dog who wanted to share all the love he had to give.
When Claude’s new family brings home a newborn baby, he immediately falls in love with his new human brother. Claude wanted to be with his human baby brother all the time. He’s so gentle around the baby that his humans don’t worry about him being around their newborn son.
Although Claude got used to being an indoor pet, he still loves going outside to stretch his legs. Claude’s face lights up when it’s time for them to go to the beach. He spends hours doing zoomies on the beach and swimming in the ocean. Here’s a video featuring Claude’s story and his new life.
