Zoos, playgrounds, aquariums, and amusement parks are usually crowded places. They are frequently filled with the sounds of children laughing, adults chatting with each other, and animals’ noises. That is why it is really sad to see how these places became abandoned when the lockdowns were implemented.
All public facilities have suspended operations in accordance with the government’s efforts to protect the public from the fatal virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic. The Georgia Aquarium is a public facility so it had to also suspend its operations.
To ensure that the place remains as dynamic as it was when visitors were still allowed, the facility’s administration offered access to special visitors.
The administration collaborated with the Atlanta Humane Society to permit kittens and puppies from animal shelters to visit the aquarium. It is also intriguing that the names of the kittens who visited the facility were associated with life in the ocean. The kittens were Guppy, Bubbles, Dory, Marlin, and Nemo, while the puppies were Odie and Carmel.
The dogs and cats watched in awe as fish and other sea creatures of varying sizes and shapes swam around their aquariums to greet them. The aquatic animals were not accustomed to seeing kittens and puppies, but they did not mind. They simply enjoyed each other’s company.
Public and non-profit facilities were likewise required to suspend operations when the lockdown was declared. The Atlanta Humane Society collaborated with the Georgia Aquarium to educate the public about how adorable rescue animals are and why they deserve loving homes as well. They wished to emphasize the significance of aquatic rescues and the splendor of aquatic life.
They created great videos depicting the happiness of the kittens and puppies at the aquarium. As part of their plans, they encourage everyone to adopt rescue animals and visit aquariums.
