Kind Lady Puts Herself In Harm’s Way To Protect Stray Dog From Heartless Abusers

Kind Lady Puts Herself In Harm’s Way To Protect Stray Dog From Heartless Abusers

Kathy Morgan October 9, 2023

It’s heartwarming to see many people who dedicate their time and efforts to helping animals in need. Their passion is highly commendable and a great source of inspiration. Some even devote themselves wholly to rescuing dogs and getting them the life that they deserve.

Just like this one woman who placed herself in danger just to save an abused dog.

This story began when a concerned woman came across a group of teenage boys kicking and throwing things at a small homeless dog. The pooch was wailing as he was subjected to pain repeatedly. The lady couldn’t bear what she saw and shouted at the abusers. The heartless guys got startled and scattered off in different directions.

Protection

Fearing that the injured dog might die, she rushed over and covered him with a blanket. The concerned woman also called an animal charity group for help. As she was waiting for the rescue team to arrive, the young men returned.

The brave lady placed herself between the small canine and the boys, ensuring they could not get near him. For her valiant efforts, the woman got shoved several times. But she was determined to keep the cruel teenagers away.

Soon after, the rescuers arrived, and the boys left again.

Medical concerns

The dog, named Souki, was taken to the organization’s shelter facility. As it was late Sunday night, they couldn’t get a hold of a vet. So they gave the canine some pain medication and antibiotics for the moment.

Early the next day, Souki was taken to a clinic. The pooch was so traumatized by his experience that the vets had difficulty examining him. The dog would squirm and snarl when he was handled. He also refused to eat or drink anything.

Eventually, he realized that he was surrounded by good people. Souki started to relax, and this made his progress go faster. He had many medical issues, and the medical team treated them all.

Souki is currently staying with a foster mom, and when he fully recovers, he will be put up for adoption.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
