A husky owner wanted to know how her Siberian husky would react to her playing the piano. She wanted him to “critique” the way she played, so she called him and told him to sit by her as she played the piano.
The dog dutifully sat next to her. She set up cameras to record how her dog would respond as he heard the music.
The dog owner explained she hadn’t played for quite some time. It had been four years since her fingers last touched the piano. She also didn’t have a music sheet with her at the time, so she apologized in advance for whatever mistake she might make.
She decided to play the classical “Canon,” which is the most famous work of German composer Johann Pachelbel. The piece, a favorite in weddings, is known to exude a serenity that permeates and influences the atmosphere in a room.
The dog owner said she would be playing the classical song from memory. However, she didn’t remember the chords too well, so she said she would let her fingers remember the notes on the piano. With her husky seated next to her, she was ready to begin her experiment.
As she started to play, her dog appeared to listen attentively to her. But because she was still remembering the song, she wasn’t able to play the piano continuously. Still, she got her husky’s attention.
As more and more of the notes came back to her memory, her playing improved, and there were fewer interruptions. By this time, her husky looked more relaxed, and he seemed to enjoy what he was hearing.
Suddenly, the husky began to howl and sing along with the music. The dog would howl once in a while, especially on parts where the pitch was high. At other times, he would be content just listening to the melody.
Mom was so happy that her dog sang along with her piano playing. See their video below.
