For some people, dogs are not just pets; they are loyal companions who stay by their side as they journey through life. But for a homeless man named Anthony Rogers, his dog Bobo was not only a companion but also a best friend whose presence he treasured so much.
That’s why when Bobo got lost and was separated from him, he was devastated. Rogers had been living on the streets of Memphis. An artist who went through some tough times, he has no place to live at the moment. However, he took good care of Bobo as much as he could.
There were times when Rogers didn’t have food to eat, but he made sure Bobo had enough food to sustain him. The two of them were inseparable. Rogers’ friends and the people who saw them on the streets knew they were always together.
However, Rogers woke up one day and found that his precious dog was gone. He didn’t know what happened to Bobo or where his dog could have wandered off.
Rogers asked his friends to help him find Bobo. They printed photos of the Staffordshire Terrier mix and posted them in different locations. Rogers waited, hoping someone would be able to tell him where his dog was.
One week passed, and no one came to him. Two weeks went on, and there was still no word about his dog. Then one day, someone contacted him and told him Bobo was at the Memphis Animal Services.
As it turned out, someone found the dog and brought it to the shelter. A staff of MAS saw one of the posters of Bobo and quickly recognized him. She called the number on the poster, and Rogers’ friend took him to the shelter.
Rogers and his beloved dog shared a tender moment as they got reunited. The dog couldn’t stop jumping into Rogers’ arms. He was so glad to be with his human dad again. Rogers hugged his dog tightly.
The shelter neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped Bobo. They also gave Rogers a big bag of dog food, plus a year’s supply of medicine against heartworm. Watch the story of Rogers and Bobo in the video below.
