For More Than A Year, Loyal Siberian Dog Waits At Side of Road For His Dead Owner To Come For Him

For More Than A Year, Loyal Siberian Dog Waits At Side of Road For His Dead Owner To Come For Him

Hachiko is the name of a famous Japanese Akita who is known for his loyalty. The dog returned to the same train station for 10 years after his owner died. Until the dog’s demise, he refused to budge from his favorite spot.

His life has become an inspiration to a lot, and movies and books have been made about him. A statue was even erected in the same place he waited.

And now, one dog from Siberia is showing the same devotion and is even called the Siberian Hachiko.

Car crash

This husky’s story started when people began noticing that a dog was sitting at the same place day after day. He just stays there, withstanding the freezing weather. People started getting curious, and an investigation occurred.

They learned that the dog started showing up after a car crash happened in the area and the driver was killed. They figured out that it was the dog’s owner and the pooch keeps coming back to look for him.

Rescue attempts

Some people felt sorry for the dog and tried to rescue him several times. But the husky would always evade them. No one has even come close. There are also some that are worried that if they keep on chasing the dog, he might run into traffic and get hit.

Residents in the area have been leaving him food and water for nourishment. One man even built him a kennel so that he could have a place to rest and keep himself out of the harsh elements. Unfortunately, though, the house was built too near the road, and a truck demolished it. Animal welfare volunteers built him a new one several days after.

Rescue attempts have been stopped for the moment. But there are still plans to safely take him away from the dangerous place. Many people have already offered to adopt him. Hopefully, this loyal dog will find a new family soon and learn how to be happy again.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
