Excitable German Shepherd Swims With Friendly Dolphins

Excitable German Shepherd Swims With Friendly Dolphins

Kathy Morgan March 16, 2020

Seeing dolphins for the first time is truly magical. That is most true if you get to see them in the wild, in their natural habitat, and not in some corporate-run aquarium. Dolphins are some of the most charming ocean creatures you’ll ever encounter.

But there’s something better than just seeing dolphins out in the ocean. That’s swimming with those free dolphins like a sea creature yourself. Swimming side by side with a school of dolphins is one for the books.

That’s something the dog in our featured video knows. Our dog goes by the name Maverick. He’s an excitable doggo.

Wonder how excitable? Watch what he does upon seeing some dolphins.

In the video, we see Maverick standing on the edge of the boat’s bow. He’s all eyes and ears at the ocean. Soon we discover what has piqued Maverick’s curiosity.

A small school of dolphins is swimming with the boat. They do that thing dolphins do. Yes, we are talking about those graceful movements that are hypnotic.

Too hypnotic that Maverick is not able to resist the dolphins. The excitable dog jumps into the water to join the dolphins. It’s as if he knew that if he wanted to experience swimming with dolphins, it was now or never.

What Maverick did is a bit silly. We can’t help but laugh at it. Also, it’s quite understandable.

Maybe the dog felt a kinship with the dolphins. After all, despite being sea creatures, dolphins are mammals, too, just like doggos. And that’s not where the similarities of these two creatures end.

Dogs and dolphins are both gentle creatures. They are as pure as the morning dew, as mushy as that sounds.

So, kudos to Maverick for following his heart. What he did is literally a leap of faith.

Kathy Morgan

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
