In a world where most employees have their backs hunched over jobs they don’t like, Arat Montoya is blessed with work that he does not have to take a vacation from. His daily routine involves surrounding himself with wagging tails and furballs who can’t hide the big smiles on their faces.
A special kind of school bus
Montoya put up the Doggie School Bus Inc. in 2016. This is not your typical school bus because it doubles as a dog daycare service. Most of his clients are from West Linn City, Oregon. Word got around, and he found himself with sixteen customers within his first two weeks of business. People loved the idea!
The demand for Montoya’s service increased as years went by. He had to switch to newer and bigger vehicles to accommodate the furballs. The dogs love it, of course. They get to enjoy the view and play with their four-legged friends while riding the school bus.
The daily schedule
Montoya spends the first hours of each morning by driving to his clients’ houses. He picks up the dogs and lets them ride the doggie school bus. Once all the dogs are in, he makes his way to a five-acre rural property that he rented from one of his closest buddies. He lets the dogs get off the bus so they can run around and play.
Come 2 PM; he signals the dogs to go back to the bus. The dogs are tired at this point; he doesn’t need to exert that much effort to convince them to go home. He then drives the dogs back to their owners. They pay him $30 for his service.
The doggie school bus driver has more than three hundred clients as of writing. To see the dogs’ epic playdates, watch the video below:
