During the past four months, at the height of strict community quarantines around the world, a lot of us were forced to stay at home. And that means spending more time with the family and pets. Thus, we’ve seen an influx of social media posts and videos about pets – some of them going viral for either being funny, cute or touching. One YouTube video that has gone fame during the past month was from a BBC sports broadcaster and his two Labradors.
As the quarantines have been implemented, sporting events were among the first ones to be put on hold. Thus, sports broadcaster for BBC Andrew Cotter has more time to spend at home with his two dogs – Olive and Mabel. With nothing much to do, Andrew decided to have a sit-down discussion with his beloved pets. He needed to talk to them about their annual performance report.
The trio created a parody Zoom call about the report, much to the Internet’s delight. It wasn’t all sunshine and smooth-sailing, though. At first, the two dogs were having a hard time setting up their videos for the call. Mabel, at one point, was told that she needed to start her video. It was hilarious as Andrew needed to send a lot of encouragement to his two meeting companions.
In the video, Mabel looked uninterested at some point and Andrew had to bring up one of Mabel’s flaws – the lack of focus at times. Andrew also had to talk to Olive and Mabel about some stuff involving Kevin the doorman. One part of the performance report that they needed to discuss was the ruined sofa as well as the high number of squirrels that they chased but not one was caught.
Andrew had to ask Mabel if she was falling asleep during their chat, at one point. Meanwhile, Olive was praised for being a good dog and Andrew told her that he’ll “see her in a walk.” The video call ended shortly as it looked like Mabel needed her nap.
The viral video got people laughing and now has over 1.8 million views and more than 30K likes. You can check out the hilarious clip on Mr. Andrew Cotter’s YouTube channel.
