Dog With The Longest Neck Unexpectedly Becomes A Turtleneck Model

Dog With The Longest Neck Unexpectedly Becomes A Turtleneck Model

Kathy Morgan August 1, 2021

Most pups make a fuss especially when it comes to putting on their winter outfits – but not the Silken Windhound named Hazel. Her closet is a lot bigger than any humans’, and she definitely has a great style to spare.

Hazel is such a long girl – she has a long body, long nose, long neck, and as her mom, May, calls them, “linguine legs.” Therefore, it’s only appropriate that her piece of garment is a turtleneck.

The two-year-old pup has specially made turtlenecks in different colors and patterns. She’ll sometimes pair them with a nice scarf to emphasize her long neck.

However, Hazel’s turtlenecks aren’t just a fashion statement – they are also practical. Since she does not have an undercoat or body fat, she could get cold so easily. Therefore, her turtlenecks would help in keeping her comfortable and cozy during the winter and fall.

According to May, who requested not to include her last name, since sighthounds like Hazel are very thin, they benefit from putting on clothes during colder months. Now that it’s going to get warmer, Hazel only wears her turtlenecks for photo ops and spends almost daily running around naked.

Though she may seem to look fancy in her winter preppy outfits, she is just a very happy, friendly girl.

May said that Hazel has gotten the sweetest personality among most dogs she has ever met. Her pup is so extroverted and loves every dog and every person she meets. If she doesn’t let her say hi to everybody they pass in the walkway, she would then act as if it is a tragedy.

The friendly dog has become an unexpected fashion influencer on Instagram. She solely manages to bring turtlenecks back in style. However, she looks great in about anything.

According to May, Hazel is fairly the best pup when it comes to being fun to dress. She has gotten such wildly long proportions. Her black fur means that she would look great in any color.

She added that her fashionable dog is also a bit of a great model because she actually gets paid with treats for her work.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
