Dog Helped Rescuers Locate Owner Injured And Trapped In The Woods

Dog Helped Rescuers Locate Owner Injured And Trapped In The Woods

Kathy Morgan October 5, 2019

Dogs are one of a kind. The moment you allowed a dog to enter your heart, the bond will be forever. A man was hiking near the Humboldt Industrial Park in Hazleton, Pennsylvania when he fell and hit his head. The accident left the man unable to move. It could have ended tragically for him if not for his dog, a mixed breed named Guy.

When he failed to return home, authorities were notified. Although dispatchers were able to give the rescuers a general idea where the man could have been stranded, they were still having difficulties in locating the injured man.Until they heard Guy’s constant barking.

However, when the rescuers reached the injured man’s location, they were having doubts about how they can climb up and if they can, how they can carry him down safely. This is where Guy demonstrated his loyalty to his beloved human. He left his owner’s side so that he can guide the rescuers up and down the embankment. Furthermore, when the rescuers were finally able to reach the injured man and carried him down, Guy would whine constantly. It was clear the dog was sad for his human.

The rescuers couldn’t believe what they were seeing. The dog showed just how much he loved his human. He stayed with the man’s side and made sure he was safe. Finally, after being stranded and injured in the woods for the last 12 hours, the man was rescued and admitted for treatment. As for Guy, he stayed with the family of one of the rescuers until his owner was sent home.

What a devoted dog Guy was. If it weren’t for him, his owner would have never made it out alive. Good job, Guy. Dogs are loving and brilliant creatures. We are a lucky bunch to have these animals as our friends. We should treat dogs with love and respect. They deserve it.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
