Dog Abused And Left To Starve In An Abandoned Attic Gets Adopted By Her Rescuer

Dog Abused And Left To Starve In An Abandoned Attic Gets Adopted By Her Rescuer

Kathy Morgan February 5, 2022

Jami Lassell and her friend went to an abandoned house in Pennsylvania as they were tasked to clean its attic as it was their job. But to their surprise, they found a trapped Pit Bull there.

When they arrived at the abandoned house, the first thing they cleaned was the first floor. After cleaning the first floor, Jami and her friend smelled something awful coming from the attic.

At first, they did not entertain this because they expected that the house would be dirty and smelly. As they tried looking for the source of the smell, they saw the poor dog, who was nothing but skin and bones.

During that time, Jami and her friend do not know what to do. For one, they do not have experience caring for a dog. The two were also unaware of how long the dog was trapped there.

But despite the dog’s poor condition, she was sweet and loving when Jami tried to pet her. With that, Jami knew in her heart that she needs to do something to help the dog. She was persistent in saving the dog from that condition.

For Jami, there is a reason why she was sent to that house other than cleaning the attic. While it was incidental that she saw the dog there, the kindhearted woman believed that their meeting was not an accident.

As such, Jami decided to bring home the dog and named her Remi. Before she brought the dog home, Jami first went to a veterinarian to have the dog checked.

At the veterinary clinic, Jami learned that the dog is experiencing health-related problems. The dog’s back leg is broken, so her kneecap is not connected.

Fortunately, the dog was a fighter, so Jami decided to fight with her. Although Remi’s road to recovery is very long, according to the veterinarian, Jami promised she would be there every step of the way.

Right now, Jami is providing all the needed support for the dog to survive. Thankfully, Remi’s overall wellness is improving as days pass by.

About The Author

Kathy Morgan

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
