Courageous Pit Bull Saves Boy From Drowning In Perilous River

Courageous Pit Bull Saves Boy From Drowning In Perilous River

Kathy Morgan March 30, 2021

Heroes can be found everywhere; they aren’t made but created in times of need. Everyone can be a hero in their own way, even dogs. Oftentimes, they are a hero to those around them without them even realizing it.

Max, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Bulldog mix, became a hero after saving a boy from drowning in a treacherous river. Although denounced by many as a bully breed, he did exactly what his owner, Rob Osborn, asked him to do. If not for a brave dog like Max, the boy may not have made it on that day.

Rob and Max happened to be spending some time by the sandy area in Port Noarlunga, Australia. During that time, it was all fun and excitement until they spotted the current swiftly moved up and caught a boy. Upon witnessing the tragic incident before their eyes, Rob immediately prepared to save the boy in need.

Just as Rob was getting ready to swim, Max on the other side was overly excited to swim again. He immediately called the pup out and directed him toward the boy. Without second thoughts, Max quickly jumped into the water and rescued the boy as he was instructed to do so.

The tide was no good at that time, and the boy was drowning from the current. Max, with his life jacket on, reached out to him. When he was close, he let the boy grabbed him by his life jacket’s handle to easily save both of them in no time. The boy was allegedly terrified and scared when they reached the shore.

Thanks to a fearless dog like Max, the boy was unharmed and safe. His courageous and heroic act is worthy of recognition and commendation around the world. Surely, his self-sacrificing deed proved that dogs, even Pit Bulls, can be a human’s protector and ally. Max is truly a hero that makes terrible situations end up well, and Rob couldn’t be any prouder.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
