Big Shar-Pei Dog Who Spent A Long Time Living On Train Tracks Finally Gets Her Happy Ending

Big Shar-Pei Dog Who Spent A Long Time Living On Train Tracks Finally Gets Her Happy Ending

Kathy Morgan August 28, 2021

Hope For Paws Animal Rescue received an urgent call from a concerned citizen about a big female Shar-Pei living next to the train tracks. The rescuers knew that the situation was critical because she might get hit by a passing train, so they rushed to the location to save the homeless dog.

The animal rescuers struggled to rescue the stray dog because she kept on running away from them. However, they managed to put on a slip leash around the dog’s neck as soon as they saw the opportunity to do so.

The dog instantly became anxious as soon as she felt the leash on her. She panicked, resisted, and tried so hard to get herself out, but her attempts to get away failed because the leashes on her neck and body were already secured.

The rescuers managed to put the dog inside a kennel after she has calmed down a little bit. They immediately gave her treats and reassured her that everything would be okay.

The rescue workers drove to the shelter to give their newly-rescued dog, Tweedy, a warm bath. They went to see the vet shortly after that for a health checkup, which turned out a bit unfortunate for the big pooch because it turns out that she had both ear and skin infections.

Tweedy was given the necessary medications to address her health issues, and she stayed at her foster home until she got better. It took Tweedy a while before she learned how to trust people and reach full recovery, but she managed to do it after her caretakers showered her with all the love she deserved.

Tweedy was eventually adopted after a few months by a loving couple who followed her story online, and her caretakers were thrilled right after Tweedy’s owners came to pick her up from the shelter. She now lives as a well-loved dog and no longer has to worry about anything anymore.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
