Big Dog Took It Upon Herself To Become The Fiercest Protector Of Their Home’s Food Supply

Big Dog Took It Upon Herself To Become The Fiercest Protector Of Their Home’s Food Supply

Kathy Morgan August 7, 2023

Big dogs must consume a certain quantity of food to fuel their large bodies. And because they are dogs, they would most likely do their best to steal any food lying around. Owners of these dogs are well aware that food should never be left unattended in the home.

Jakey, a 6-year-old Rottweiler, is an exception to the generalization that most dogs will consume whatever meal they see. In fact, she has appointed herself as the family’s food protector.

The family of Jakey enjoys baked goods, especially bread. After learning this, the dog became the bread’s guardian.

After the family leaves the home, the devoted dog searches for and conceals the bread to safeguard it. Jakey, per her fur mother Katrina, believes she must guard the bread.

When the family gets home, they need only inquire where the bread guardian hid it. Next, she directs them to her storage facility.

Jakey can smell bread anywhere in the house due to her extraordinary sense of smell. Even if the bread is in the pantry, she will be able to open the door and grab it without difficulty. Frank, her fur dad, once placed the bread in the refrigerator, but she still managed to obtain it.

Jakey had never eaten any of the bread she had guarded, although having been responsible for its safety on numerous occasions. She takes her obligations very seriously and is quite submissive!

The dog is both resourceful and thorough in her job. Once, she concealed the cookies she found in a Tupperware. Her father purposefully concealed it in the pantry. When she was eventually able to open the Tupperware, she hid the cookies with great care. There were 17 cookies in total!

In addition to Jakey, the family has other pets, but none of them can equal his unshakeable protective qualities. In fact, Jakey prohibits all other household animals from consuming the family’s bread and baked products.

She even lays down next to the bread to guard it. To keep her animal siblings from eating the bread, she even frightens them away. She is an adorable guard!

Frank feels Jakey assumed her responsibilities because she regularly witnesses the family eating bread. Perhaps she felt that baked goods were a need for her family. It is the kindest action a creature could ever take!

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
