Dogs are the most loved pets in households today. No wonder they’re regarded as a Man’s Best friend. They’re even almost as helpful as humans in certain situations.

America is one of the countries with the most dog owners. It’s no wonder that the AKC, or American Kennel Club, lists the top most popular dog every year.

1991-2018, the Labrador Retriever has consistently reached the #1 spot. Below are the breeds that made it to the top 10:

1. Labrador Retriever

Labradors are known to be friendly. They are a cuddly type of dog. The energy that they contain brightens up the mood in every home.

The German shepherd is good with its sense of alertness. These dogs may be aloof at times. However, when they develop their trust, their loyalty is unquestionable.

This French bulldog’s spot was great. It used to rank in 76th place until 20 years ago when it went up to 4th. French bulldogs are known to be the most famous small breeds. They’re able to adjust to conditions very well.

About The Author

Kathy Morgan

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
