After Getting Abducted During A Home Invasion, Dog Finally Reunites With Owner

After Getting Abducted During A Home Invasion, Dog Finally Reunites With Owner

Kathy Morgan July 10, 2024

Stolen dogs can be one of the most unfortunate things that could happen to dog owners everywhere. One of the worst things that could happen is coming home and discovering that their precious dog was abducted. A woman from Fort Worth, Texas, did not think her beloved pet could still be found. But miracles happened – and the tearful reunion was all caught on tape!

Last May, the Templetons fell victim to burglars who broke into their humble Fort Worth, Texas home. The criminals could grab the family’s jewelry, gadgets, expensive guitars, and other valuable things. The thieves even got some cash.

After gathering their fill, the burglars found one last addition to their loot – they saw the shy and scared four-month-old Collie/ Heeler mix named Petey. Seeing that the puppy is nowhere near an aggressive state, the men decide to steal him, too.
According to Petey’s owner, Julia Templeton, she was devastated when she discovered Petey had been abducted. At first, she and the rest of the family were in utter denial, saying Petey might have wandered off. But police ruled out that possibility and concluded that Petey had been stolen.

Authorities told Julia and the whole family to lower their expectations and prepare themselves for the bad news. After a month, during a sudden turn of events, police found the poor pup! As part of the station protocol, authorities called the Templetons and asked them questions about the Petey to ensure the dog belonged to them.
After the police confirmed Templeton’s ownership, it was time to return Petey to the family. The tearful reunion was caught on video – with Petey waggling his tail as his owners hugged and kissed him. The officers are glad that the dog is finally reunited with his family – and could not think of a better reward than Petey’s sweet smile.

About The Author

Kathy Morgan

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
