Abused Senior Dog Found In Plastic Crate Finally Gets Help

Abused Senior Dog Found In Plastic Crate Finally Gets Help

Kathy Morgan May 10, 2024

While walking through the neighborhood, a concerned animal lover saw a tiny plastic crate with a senior dog inside. Realizing the difficulty, the neighbor freed the dog and brought her home.

Abuse story

The neighbor asked around the area and discovered the dog’s name was Mia. Mia’s parents shoved the dog inside the tiny crate and left her there while they went on vacation. The poor dog had no food or water, and the crate temperature reached almost eight degrees.

It’s suspected the dog spent six hours in the crate. Mia looked like she was severely emaciated and used as a breeding dog. The neighbor knew the dog needed immediate medical care, so she transported her to a local rescue facility called Rescue Me Pawsome Style in Ohio.

After finishing some tests, Mia was assigned to a foster mom named Renee Harbart. Renee was passionate about helping dogs and knew she’d take good care of Mia.

New chapter

Renee knew to be gentle whenever she was with Mia. She ensured the dog felt comfortable and loved by giving her ample time to heal.

Every day, Renee saw that she worked on the dog’s neglect case. She wrote letters and made phone calls to the local police department. Thankfully, the dog’s former owners were found and charged with several fines and probation, stating they were banned from owning animals.

After months of staying with Renee, Mia showed a fantastic transformation. The dog looked incredibly healthy, and she loved socializing with humans. Renee knew all that progress was thanks to the dog’s strong will and dedication to improve.

Renee loved Mia so much that she eventually decided to adopt her. The dog can finally live happily inside a home where she is loved and adored.

Kathy Morgan

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
