In most cases, stray dogs would try to avoid human contact at all costs. This is because most stray dogs only experienced cruelty from humans they try to approach. And, because most people don’t treat them with kindness, these dogs associate humans with cruelty and violence and they try hard to be far away from people as possible.
However, one particular stray dog can’t stay away from a woman’s yard. A woman named Laurette happened to be walking in her yard and suddenly saw a small dog push her way under the fence. The dog was so friendly that it didn’t even hesitate going right up to Laurette to say hi and get some attention and love from her.
Laurette was so surprised and asked her neighbor about the dog. Laurette soon found out that the dog’s name is Georgia and that she was a stray dog that her neighbor was letting the dog stay on their property for the time being. Of course, Laurette brought the dog over back to her neighbor.
However, Laurette was surprised that the dog came right back to her. Even when Laurette returned Georgia to her neighbor’s property again, Georgia still made her way back to Laurette. Somehow, Georgia decided that she wanted to be with Laurette.
Laurette saw how sweet Georgia was and when Georgia made it back to Laurette’s property for the third time, Laurette decided to let Georgia in her home. Georgia made herself right at home and she appeared so content. Laurette thought that this was her chance and decided to call her neighbor to ask if she could adopt Georgia.
Without skipping a beat, Laurette’s neighbor agreed. Laurette was so happy that Georgia was officially a part of her family. At that time, Laurette was also getting cancer treatment. She was on multiple rounds of chemo and radiation therapy and the treatments were taking their toll on her body.
Georgia was there to comfort Laurette during her time of need. Georgia helped Laurette to always have a positive outlook on her life and she encouraged Laurette to keep fighting cancer. Thankfully, Laurette won her battle against cancer. Ever since Laurette adopted Georgia, they became inseparable.
Georgia encouraged Laurette to go outside more and to be more adventurous. Eventually, Laurette learned to ride the motorcycle with a sidecar and took Georgia on a road trip. Here’s a heartwarming video of how Laurette adopted Georgia and why it was one of the best and greatest decisions she made in her entire life.
