Dog Stays With Fawn Stuck In Fence Until Help Came

Dog Stays With Fawn Stuck In Fence Until Help Came

Kathy Morgan October 3, 2020

Dogs are undoubtedly amazing creatures. They have a heart of gold and as gentle as could be. When they are appropriately raised, they have the utmost compassion. Tons of videos online can attest to that.

Just like this one particular video that has now garnered almost two and a half million views. It’s about a lovable dog that wants to help a stuck fawn and wouldn’t leave its side despite his owner calling him over and over again.

Good boy

The video started with the dog, Charlie, standing in the yard next to a fawn who had its body stuck in between the iron bars of their fence. Nobody knew how the baby deer got in, but by the way, its body was positioned, it was on its way out. It tried several times to push its body out, but its hips got in the way.

Charlie sat next to it, not knowing how to help it. His mom, who was filming the whole scenario, was calling out for him, telling the dog to come back in the house. She said that the dog was scaring the fawn and told him to leave it alone. She also said that a storm was coming and to get inside the house.

But Charlie refuses to budge; he wants to see the fawn get free first. Seeing that the dog was relentless, the owner, Alice Nunley, had no choice but to go out to the two creatures. At first, she was reluctant to help the fawn because it was scared and might kick her. But eventually, she decided to lend a helping hand.

She tried pushing the baby deer through the opening, but it didn’t work. So with one hand, she tried to pull the iron bar to widen the gap. Her other hand carrying it’s rear and pushing it through. Finally, the young deer got free, and it happily went to the woods.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
