If you’ve heard some stories about free-roaming dogs chasing a deer, then you must have understood that these two different species don’t usually go along well. However, in Pittsburgh, a ten-year-old rescue dog named Meesha developed a liking towards a local deer she met at the yard. Ever since that day, they have become the best of friends.
Lisa Pacolay, Meesha’s mom, was the first one to notice the friendly deer’s daily visit in her yard. Whenever she lets her pup out, the deer appears within a minute or so. And once the playtime is over and they have to go back inside the house, she sees the deer circling as if she’s looking for her dog.
The second day that the deer went back, Pacolay didn’t hesitate to take a video of the two while playing. In the video, Meesha and the deer can be seen chasing each other even though there’s a fence between them. Unfortunately, Meesha had to go back to the house, so the friendly deer had no choice but to watch him go.
Pacolay soon realized that it was the fawn season, so the deer may have assumed that the pup posed a risk to her fawn. Nonetheless, whatever her intention was, it still looked like she was having a fun time with Meesha. The two just seemed to understand each other and grow an adorable bond.
Meesha’s owner then uploaded the video on Facebook, and it gained thousands of views. A lot of viewers couldn’t believe the odd yet heartwarming friendship between the pup and the deer. They couldn’t deny how adorable the pair was even if they got to play for only a few minutes.
Sadly, the doe stopped coming ever since the day the clip was posted. Meesha is hoping to see her again next time and have a fun playtime again. Indeed, an unexpected friendship is the best thing ever.
Day 2 and I'm still in awe of this relationship. I've never seen anything like this ever.Edit: We do realize that it is fawn season and this doe may have had a fawn somewhere in the woods that she thought our dog posed a risk to. We haven't seen the deer again since the day this video was posted. Regardless of what any intentions really were, it looked like they were playing to our family.
