Westminster resident Teresa Boeklem came home one day to find her beloved pet unresponsive. The two-year-old King Charles Spaniel named Chloe was very close to her mom as Teresa heavily relied on the canine for emotional support during the past couple of years.
The dog owner underwent a lot of grief because of a series of tragic events. COVID-19 took away her dad, cancer killed her mom, and her aunt recently passed away as well. To top it off, she had a miscarriage. Through it all, Chloe gave her strength and precious companionship.
Finding the pooch that fateful day in such a terrible state crushed her heart. She couldn’t handle any more misery.
New challenge
Determined to save her pet, Teresa rushed Chloe to a vet. The medical team was able to revive her, and they discovered that she had an autoimmune blood disorder. The dog needed expensive treatment. Without it, the pooch would likely get severely sick again, and she might die.
Teresa couldn’t afford the costly medical bills, but she didn’t want to lose her dog. It would just break her completely. The dog owner was determined to keep Chloe alive, so she told the vets to treat her pooch, and that she will find a way to cover the expenses.
Fortunately for her, help came in quickly.
A kind stranger
With no one else to turn to, Teresa went online and pleaded for help through her Facebook account. In just a couple of days, a stranger messaged her. A kind lady told her to strengthen her resolve and never lose hope. She also said she would pay for Chloe’s vet bills and any follow-up treatments.
The relieved dog owner couldn’t stop crying. Chloe was soon getting better and was allowed to go home. Although Teresa wanted to let everyone know the person who helped her through another challenging moment in his life, the stranger didn’t want her name to be released. Some people just want to help.
And her gracious assistance allowed Chloe to fully recover and give Teresa the companionship she needed.
