Injured Stray Dog Gets The Help It Needs When It Decided To Approach A Pharmacist

Injured Stray Dog Gets The Help It Needs When It Decided To Approach A Pharmacist

Kathy Morgan November 3, 2022

Banu Cengiz is a pharmacist and animal lover who lives in Turkey. She has a pet that she personally rescued from a rough life on the streets years ago. She also has a small oasis outside her drugstore for every stray dog. While she may not be able to give all dogs a permanent home, her small oasis is Banu’s way of caring for them.

Banu created the oasis not for fame, but to help the dogs. She never intended for it to get a lot of attention. But word spread about it and she soon found a lot of dogs spending time there.

Banu observed a dig in front of the pharmacy one day while she was working her shift. Instead of resting on the comfortable mattresses, it was standing and waiting at the entrance of the business. Banu sensed something was up when she noticed that the dog’s behavior was different from that of the other dogs there.

The dog’s left front paw had a minor laceration that was bleeding. Clearly, she required assistance and knew precisely whom to approach. Banu, who possessed a naturally sympathetic nature, was more than happy to assist the dog.

Banu treated the dog’s wound with antiseptics and stopped the bleeding. She then gave it antibiotics in an effort to prevent infection. The dog really seemed to understand that the helpful pharmacist had only good intentions, as she remained calm and made no protests while she was getting treated.

Banu said that when she was done cleaning the wound, the dog just laid down and looked comfortable. The dog also looked at her as if she was thanking her and was telling Banu that she had faith in her.

The dog remained at Banu’s pharmacy until the end of the day. She gave her food and clean water to help her regain her strength and energy. For a short time, the store served as the sweet dog’s temporary rehabilitation facility.

About The Author

Kathy Morgan

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
