Four-Month-Old Rescue Pup Returned To Delighted Owner After Getting Stolen Two Years Ago

Four-Month-Old Rescue Pup Returned To Delighted Owner After Getting Stolen Two Years Ago

Kathy Morgan October 5, 2022

Schiele is a Belgian Malinois that was only four months old when he was rescued. A man named Rian Maercks from Florida adopted him and took the puppy from a shelter in Puerto Rico. Several weeks after the two got together, they relocated to California. And that is where their ordeal began.

A broken window

Rian needed to go inside a store to pick up the grill he ordered. He didn’t bother to take his pet inside with him as he knew he would just be quick. He left his Tesla locked with the air conditioning turned on. He knew that the dog was not in any danger.

When he returned to his car, the dog owner expected to see a smiling face and a wagging tail. But instead, he saw the window on the passenger side was smashed, and his dog was nowhere to be found.

He quickly reported the stolen dog to the authorities and launched a search for Schiele. Rian said that he became very desperate. The rescue pup was the smartest and most affectionate dog he had ever met. In the short time they had been together, he had fallen deeply in love with him.

But despite his efforts and the promise of a large reward, no one returned the puppy.

Healthy pooch

Two years after Schiele got stolen, Alan received a call from a local animal shelter. They told him that they had his precious pet in their possession. Someone dropped the pup there. The pet owner wasted no time and rushed to see his missing dog.

Alan was surprised and happy to see that Schiele looked healthy. No one knows where he went, but it seemed apparent that someone took good care of the pooch.

Alan said that he is so grateful to have his pet back, and he will make sure that the dog continues to live a happy life.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
