This Dog Used Dry Leaves To Stay Warm, But He’s Now Comfortable And Cozy In His New Home

Kathy Morgan April 30, 2022

A dog named Daria survived on the streets for so long. But once he was older, he found it more challenging to get by. Finding food wasn’t his only problem – he also had difficulty searching for a place warm enough for him to stay in.

Without a home or an owner, Daria had to figure things out on his own. He wandered the streets and begged people for help. But despite his efforts, no one just seemed to care. And as if life wasn’t terrible enough already, he even ended up breaking his leg more than a few times.

Daria didn’t have much in life but he knew how to make the most out of what he had. Instead of using a blanket, he buried himself in dry leaves at the base of a tree to stay warm. That’s the most that he could do to ensure he didn’t lose his body heat fast.

Despite all his troubles, Daria did not give up. He continued to seek help until finally, an angel came his way. Lalaushkova, an independent rescuer, found him and took him to her rescue center.

For the first time, the pup slept on a bed placed in a warm room. He even had a full meal, something he haven’t had for so long. He was dazed at first, but he absolutely loved the change that suddenly happened in his life.

Daria experienced so many things for the first time. He went to see a vet and received treatment for his dermatitis. He met other rescue dogs and made friends. He ate real food and discovered that he liked carrots so much.

At his age, it is best for Daria to spend his remaining years in a home. But often, people choose younger dogs to adopt. He is, however, fortunate enough because a kind woman offered to foster him for good.

Daria is now happy and comfortable in his foster home. It may not be an official adoption but it’s good enough for him. He is grateful and overjoyed that he no longer have to spend a second out in the cold.

Kathy Morgan

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma (of course a lady never shares their age) many years ago. Growing up I could remember always enjoying many pets in our household. From rabbits, hamsters Guinea pigs and dogs I loved them all even to this day. After graduating from High School: I decided to search for my first job. Yep, you guessed it my first job landed me in a pet shop. I learned so much from that experience that twenty years later I am still affiliated with our four-legged friend. I no longer work in a pet shop; but I have devoted my life to writing articles about “man’s best friend” dogs. I hope you enjoy the articles, stories and videos of our furry friends on this website. See you on the inside.
