Ethan the rescue dog endured such a painful past. Luckily, his life changed from getting abandoned in a parking lot to becoming a social media star. Even so, there were still some challenges in the way.
Major setbacks
Ethan’s recovery story started from the moment he was found by the Kentucky Humane Society. The poor dog was left alone in a parking lot and he was fifty pounds underweight.
Thanks to the selfless care given by the rescue shelter, Ethan reached a healthy weight and regained his positive attitude. Because of the strength and optimism shown by the dog, the facility director fell in love and adopted him.
Weeks after getting officially adopted, Ethan experience some major issues. Once he got settled right in his new home, the dog started having seizures almost daily. His family contacted many vets, trying to find a proper explanation.
After Ethan’s first neurology appointment and MRI, the doctors said that the seizures were most likely caused by past trauma. Poor Ethan has several lesions and additional brain damage evident in his frontal lobe.
Jeff Callaway, Ethan’s dad, also found out that the extreme starvation his dog experiences before he was found was another case of his recent seizures. Jeff immediately sought for different medical solutions to help his dog.
Good days ahead
After multiple treatments, Ethan started showing some improvements in his health. It was a slow process but Jeff was so glad to see that his dog was thriving and pushing through.
Ethan has shown nothing but resilience throughout his life and he has proved his strength. To inspire his large fan base, Jeff posts daily progress photos on Ethan’s Instagram page.
Jeff takes his dog to work every day and even laid a dog bed in his office for Ethan to lay in. Everyone at the company loved Ethan and were so amazed at how behaved the dog was.
Ethan may still be going on this journey to recovery but he was so blessed with a loving support system. Jeff loved his dog dearly and he promised to give him the life he truly deserved.
