Arkin is a sweet and loving dog, and yet, nobody wanted him. He ended up in a public pound and spent his days hoping someone would come and change his life. But it had been six years and he was still in the same place he was before.
Every day, the dog waited for potential adopters to come. He watched people approach his kennel and looked at them as they walked away. It was his life, and soon, he lost all hopes and accepted that he’d probably die inside the pound, until Howl Of A Dog, a local not-for-profit rescue group, came to his rescue.
The dog had been used to people visiting him and leaving him right after that he didn’t realize the rescuers were there to help. He barely looked at them and didn’t even bark or whine. But his eyes expressed the loneliness he felt inside, and it was enough for them to know what he needed.
The rescuers did not waste any second. They quickly pulled out the dog from the pound and took him straight to the vet’s office and made sure he received medical attention. They had him started on medicated bath and treated for flea infestation.
Slowly, Arkin’s sadness started to fade away. He learned to enjoy life and soon became a happy boy. He spent his days discovering things around him and his progress brought pleasure to all his rescuers.
As his physical wounds healed, his spirits mended. He became lively, energetic, playful, and a little naughty at times, just as the way a dog should be. He was finally ready, and it was time for him to find his forever family.
Howl Of A Dog networked Arkin to everyone they knew, and they shared the story of his recovery as many times as possible. They wanted people to know how great of a dog he was, and they didn’t disappoint because a family from New Hampshire in the U.S. fell in love with him.
After making all the necessary arrangements, Arkin made it to his new home. It only took him a few days to adjust to his new life that he was able to go on a hike three days since his arrival. And at that moment, he began a new life with his forever dad.
