A man was on his way to visit a friend when he spotted puppies playing next to the gushing river. He worried for their safety so he called for help and connected with DAR Animal Rescue. And quickly, its head rescuer, Ermionni, responded.
Ermionni drove fast to get to the puppies at the soonest possible time. She focused on rescuing them but she couldn’t help but notice that the road she was traveling was surrounded mostly by fields. There were no houses around and only very few people pass through that road.
It was safe for the rescuer to assume that whoever dumped the poor puppies in that area wanted them gone. Without food sources nearby, they surely won’t survive for long. Fortunately enough for them, help came at the time it did.
One by one, Ermionni scooped up the puppies and placed them in a travel crate inside her car. She then headed straight to the vet’s office to have them checked. She made sure that they all got the medical care they needed and she was happy to know that none of them had any serious health condition.
The puppies, which were three girls and three boys, felt a little scared at first. They snuggled together and found comfort in one another. But soon enough, they realized they were safe so they started exploring their surrounding.
No one knew how long the puppies were out on their own but it was great to know that they were all healthy. They had huge appetites and they loved food so much. They needed some thorough washing and they certainly enjoyed being clean.
Ermionni and her entire crew at DAR Animal Rescue will take care of the puppies until they are old and big enough to search for their forever homes. But until then, the furry siblings will spend their days knowing they are safe, cared for, and loved.
